Chancellor Adolf Hitler gave a speech in his return to Munich Germany in February 24, 1941. This day marks the 21st anniversary of Hitler giving his speech in the same place he is now, revealing the Nationalist Socialist German Workers’ Party to the German people. The 25-point plan that was apart of the program explains laws that the Nazi Regime believes in and for everyone to abide by. He spoke specifically to the German people and no one else. In his speech, he gives thanks to his loyal and devoted comrades who have supported him throughout the years. He goes on to tell the people how his program has yet to be altered in the last 21 years of it existing. In his speech, you can see that Hitler was a motivational speaker and had lots of knowledge of his nation. He convinces his audience to really believe in him with his strong and forceful language. This man coveys that he cares nothing more than about his country and will do everything he can to make Germany a force to be wrecking with once more. Even though Hitler had the wrong idea on how to deal with the separation of Jews out of his country, he yet was still a very brilliant leader.
In the beginning of Hitler’s speech he makes it clear that his movement is one of a kind because of the no interest in other individual classes. It is a program that only cares for the German people. Hitler goes on and tells the people of his personal experiences that he dealt with back in 1920. He explains that his new program didn’t lift off the ground immediately because of the hesitation and lack of confidence the country had in him, but he stuck with it and continued to spread the word of his program. Eventually as the years went by he gained more comrades to support his movement.
In telling his personal story, Hitler goes back to tell the people of how he became so motivated and inspired to form this movement. He reminds the German people of their past history, that happened not too long ago. Hitler was frustrated and pissed off for what Germany had done in World War I. Losing the Great War wasn’t easy for Hitler to swallow and the impact it left on Germany. Germany was the country in World War I with the most casualties rounding about around 2 million dead. The political leadership during World War I was the reason for the lost of the Great War. Hitler follows by telling the people that the only one good thing came out from World War I, was the relentless fight from the German soldiers who were outnumbered and overpowered for four years.
Going in further, Hitler acknowledges the two different parties within Germany, the proletariat who were Marxian and bourgeoisie who were Nationalists. Having a country divided into two belief systems made the nation not reach its full potential in conclusion made the country weak. Hitler wanted to breakdown those barriers and for both parties to be under one roof. All he needs is one party to give into the other to form one united nation. Since both parties don’t want to swallow their pride and dignity Hitler came up with a devious idea. He gave Germany a common enemy that would form a bond between the Nationalists and Marxian parties. The common enemy was the Jewish people and for all the trouble they have caused Germany. With the economy being poor and storeowners mainly being Jewish, the German people must gain back what they once had. For the nation to achieve success they would have to put aside their own personal beliefs and to put their country before them.
The Treaty of Versailles is something that Hitler was always stressed about to the point where he would read the treaty itself over and over again to understand the justification of it. The treaty itself simply states, for the German people were being dictated on their rights and making the country weak. The intention of the treaty was to enslave the German people in their own country forever. President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson being part of the treaty did not want Germany to pay for their actions, “but in a way that would lead to European reconciliation as opposed to revenge.” (Woodrow Wilson, HistoryLearningSite.co.uk). According to Hitler, America told Germany to lay down its arms and that they would receive things in return. Well as Hitler mentions, America broke that promise to Germany and in return did not get its side of equal justice.
After discussing about Germany’s history, Hitler goes onto another important topic, which is dealing with current problems, the navy. With the advancement in technology and manufacturing, Germany had to build a respectable navy to fight against enemies. He had told the crowd of recent activity that he just heard about two hours before his speech from the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. The navy had lost 215,000 tons due to the attack of submarine ships by enemies. Their needs to be improvements in the navy to avoid tragedies such as this, therefore wants to make changes to the navy. Hitler is showing his fellow comrades that he is still on a mission to make Germany stronger and that there are lots of adjustments that need to be made for it to be a powerful nation.
While Adolf Hitler has the attention of all of Germany, he must mention his hatred that he has for Britain. Hitler deliberately says that the German Army will attack Britain when it is at its weakest moment and will fight endlessly. He continues to rant about wherever the British ships touch the water that German submarines will not be too far from them. Hitler has built up strong hatred towards Britain especially after the Treaty of Versailles, where Britain got their revenge on Germany.
As Hitler’s speech is coming full circle, he dwells on one final matter. He discusses about the Providence. He mentions that when he first came to power that Germany was weak and not a united nation. Since the country is not together as one, Providence decided to punish Germany by an economic downfall. “If a nation forgets itself as completely as the German nation did at that time, if it thinks that it can shake off all honor and all good faith, Providence can do nothing but teach it a hard and bitter lesson.” (Adolf Hitler, Munich 1941). Hitler agreed with this statement and thought that Germany did deserve this defeat for the country to wake up. The German people needed to turn things around and to take back what was rightfully theirs. Hitler is only trying to motivate these people, but unfortunately the way he wants to get things done in his country is utterly wrong in countless ways. For Hitler wanting to extinct the race of the Jewish people is blasphemy. You cannot just take it upon yourself to extinct a race because you personally feel that it’s the only solution to the problem that Germany is in.
Adolf Hitler was an intimidating and smart human being who had the power all the power in the world, but used it for evil. He is responsible for millions of deaths and has left the survivors of his actions in complete mental instability. The way Hitler spoke to his supporters just made you want to believe in this man and to get behind such a strong passionate leader of his country. For him only to tarnish the name of the German people that he strongly fought for.
